Favorite Locations

I love shooting on location. Not only does the location help tell the story of the person being photographed, it adds to the memory of the experience. These are just a few of my favorite locations.

The perfect location for nature lovers, this private lake site has water views, two boat docks, and reedy shorelines that make for understated, nostalgic, romantic backgrounds. Sunsets here are great year round.

City Point Park, Hopewell, VA

Located on a high point of land extending out into the waters of the James an Appomattox Rivers, this is the site of General Ulysses S. Grant's headquarters during the siege of Petersburg. This quiet home site boasts excellent river views, gorgeous sunsets, rustic buildings, and one of the most beautiful crepe myrtle tree arches in the area. This quaint and romantic setting is perfect for couples, individual, and group portraits.

Old Towne, Petersburg, VA

The afternoon light here is outstanding no matter the season. A long stretch of historic cobblestone street and brick buildings, Old Towne has a unique charm and nostalgic feel. There are many interesting backdrops rich with textures and colors perfect for individual, couples, and group portraits.

Maymont Park, Richmond, VA

This well known and often crowded park is one of the most diverse shooting locations in the area. Located within the Richmond city limits, this park has natural beauty, water features, walking paths, scenic vistas, and themed areas, like the Italian Garden or the Japanese Garden perfect for any style of portraiture. The late afternoon light is warm and adds charm to any picture.
